Born in New Delhi in 1958, she spent her childhood in India, Thailand and Austria. In 1973 she moved to Milan, in 1979 graduated at the Scuola Politecnica di Design. In Milan, she worked with Ugo La Pietra and Ambrogio Rossari. Between 1981 and 1992 she collaborated with Alessandro Mendini, participating actively in Alchimia, taught at the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad in India, the Craft ENAD in Limoges (F), ISIA in Faenza, Università del Progetto in Reggio Emilia, and she was assistant to Alessandro Mendini at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
She performed numerous workshops at NABA “Painted Furniture”, at the Master of Lighting Design of Polimi, at ISDAT Toulouse (F) with the theme “Ceramics and Light”.
She is currently professor of design and coordinator at the Academy of Fine Arts in Verona. She participated in a great number of collective exhibitions world-wide, and solo shows at XXI Trienniale in Milan, Pietrasanta, Verona. Her work was been selected for the Compasso d’Oro (Alessofono by Alessi), the Bundes Preis fuer Design (TASCHE by Koziol) and the Gran-Design-Etico (Fiori di Luce, self-productions).
