Salviati a Osaka for Expo 2025

SALVIATI PRESENT AT THE ITALY PAVILION AT EXPO 2025 IN OSAKA

Venice, April 7, 2025 – Expo Osaka 2025, Italy Pavilion

Salviati unveils its exclusive collaboration with architect Kengo Kuma, which has led to the creation of the “dieXe” chandelier and the “Collezione Zero” vase collection. These glass artworks, crafted at Salviati’s furnaces in Murano – Venice, will be exhibited at the Italy Pavilion from April 13 to October 13, 2025.

Nearly 160 years after Salviati’s first participation in a Universal Exposition (Paris, 1867), Expo Osaka marks a new milestone in the Company’s extraordinary journey. Salviati stands as a joining link between past and future, tradition and innovation, embodying the essence of a uniquely Italian and Venetian art form: glassmaking.

The exclusive collaboration with architect Kengo Kuma — renowned for the ability to harmonize materials, light, and space — is the result of a creative synergy that propels Murano glass into a new era.
The “dieXe” chandelier exemplifies the perfect balance between artisanal mastery and contemporary architectural design. The “Collezione Zero” vases seamlessly blend Japanese design philosophy with Murano’s glassmaking tradition.
The elegance of Murano glass is elevated through Kuma’s organic and poetic design approach, where materials interact harmoniously with space and sustainability.

This collaboration represents a dialogue between cultures, a common thread between history and modernity, and a celebration of Venetian craftsmanship excellence. Just as Salviati’s creations captivated international audiences in 1867, Expo Osaka 2025 stands as a pivotal moment to reaffirm the timeless value of Murano glass.
